A great number of conferences and workshops on various subjects are organized in and around Turkey, providing time for discussions and interaction. The General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works Regional for Turkey is organizing these meetings within the framework of the preparations for the Forum in Turkey.
Each region is coordinated by a specific organization or group of organizations that aims to bring together the various stakeholders from all sectors and corners of that specific area. The outputs of these meetings should have direct impact on daily life and be practice-oriented. At the end, there will be a single document summarizing all concrete outputs of the related meetings.
Two important preparatory meeting will be held next October in Nicosia and Kiev.
Regional Meetings in Turkey
A number of local meetings will be held within the framework of the preparations for the 5th World Water Forum by the Turkish General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works Regional Directorates.
The meetings are planned to be held as workshops providing more space for discussions and interaction, rather than a seminar or symposium. The papers to be presented will be chosen among subjects that have direct impact on daily life and that are practice-oriented.
The meetings in question will be limited to two days.
- Day 1: Four sessions (one opening session, 3 technical sessions) are planned for the program of Day 1.
- Day 2: Two sessions (one morning session: workshop, one afternoon session: panel) are planned for the program of Day 2.
